Malwarebytes Named to Deloitte’s 2015 Technology Fast 500

Innovation leading to market disruption and broad popularity propels Malwarebytes revenue and second appearance on elite list

SAN JOSE, CA – November 13, 2015Malwarebytes, the cybersecurity software company founded to prevent and remediate malware for both people and businesses, today announced that it has been named to the No. 186 position on the elite listing of Deloitte’s 2015 Technology Fast 500™, which ranks the 500 fastest growing technology, media, telecommunications, life sciences and clean technology companies in North America. The Deloitte Technology Fast 500 is based on percentage of revenue growth from fiscal year 2011 to 2014, and Malwarebytes grew by 264 percent during this period. The company also appeared #76 on the Fast 500 list last year.

“We’re privileged to receive this level of recognition from Deloitte, and thank the company for recognizing our market success, as well as our efforts to enable and foster a malware-free existence for consumers and businesses,” said Marcin Kleczynski, co-founder and CEO of Malwarebytes. “In today’s world, companies need to assume they’ll become infected. Our rapidly growing team of experts are constantly hunting for malware and stopping it before it begins infecting. In the past two years, we’ve grown more than 100 percent year-over-year. We look forward to reaching new markets with new innovation in the near future.”

Malwarebytes continues to reflect the operating philosophy of its founder, Marcin Kleczynski. Only 18 when he founded the company but a passionate advocate of a malware-free existence, Marcin joined with a band of malware experts to dissect malicious code, trade malware intelligence and assist consumers. The open, depoliticized culture led to the creation of the core offering, which has long since passed 300 million free downloads and is the solution of choice among tech-savvy users. The enterprise offering is also rapidly growing, and the loyalty of the customer base is evident based on the fact that 90 percent of traffic comes from referrals.

“Amid a fierce business climate, there seems to be no shortage of new and established companies that are unlocking a seemingly unlimited potential for growth and advancement through technology’s continued disruption and proliferation across industries,” said Sandra Shirai, principal, Deloitte Consulting LLP and U.S. technology, media and telecommunications leader. “It is inspiring to witness the innovative ways that companies are incorporating emerging technologies for business gains, be it cognitive computing, or the Internet of Things. We congratulate all those ranked on this year’s Fast 500 and look forward to seeing their continued growth into 2016.”

Overall, 2015 Technology Fast 500™ companies achieved revenue growth ranging from 109 percent to 21,984 percent from 2011 to 2014, with an average growth of 850 percent.

In the past two years, Malwarebytes has seemingly been on everyone’s radar as a company on the fast-track to success, taking the distinction of “fastest growing” and “most promising” by organizations such as Inc. and Forbes respectively; while consulting firm Ernst and Young named Kleczynski an EY Entrepreneur Of The Year™ in the Emerging category, a designation that recognizes outstanding entrepreneurs who demonstrate excellence and extraordinary success in such areas as innovation, financial performance, and personal commitment to their businesses and communities. Forbes placed Kleczynski as a top “30 Under 30” executive on the Enterprise Technology list; while Silicon Valley Business Journal named him a top “40 under 40” executive for his strong record of innovation and outstanding performance in business.

Last month, the Silicon Valley Business Journal ranked the company No. 18 on the top 50 fastest growing private companies. Earlier this year, the company was named a finalist in the SC Magazine Awards for outstanding leadership and achievement in information security. Specifically, Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit was recognized in the Best Vulnerability Management Category.

Malwarebytes has been specifically designed to offer an advanced layer of defense to prevent and remediate attacks that firewalls and antivirus solutions miss. Cybercriminals are also increasingly using zero-day vulnerabilities developed by well-resourced criminal teams to breach large organizations, a problem addressed by Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit. Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for Business has evolved to provide a centrally deployed, administered and monitored layer of threat protection and malware remediation that can be seamlessly added to existing security infrastructures.
